WEY 03 Safety Systems and Collision Control

Safety is not a bonus feature. It is a priority. The WEY 03 comes equipped with a full suite of active and passive safety systems. At WEY UAE, we believe every driver deserves a vehicle built with safety in mind.

Together, these systems are designed to support you and your passengers on every journey. They do not guarantee the prevention of accidents. Driver attention remains essential at all times.

Active and Passive Safety Explained

Safety systems fall into two main groups. Active safety is designed to help avoid or reduce the severity of accidents. Passive safety is designed to protect occupants when a collision occurs. The WEY 03 includes both. Neither system removes the need for attentive, responsible driving.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

The WEY 03 comes with a full ADAS suite. This is a collection of electronic systems that monitor the road and provide inputs to assist the driver.

The ADAS suite includes the following features:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Helps maintain a driver selected speed and following distance from the vehicle ahead
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA): Detects unintended lane drift and can provide steering assistance to help guide the vehicle back toward its lane; the driver remains in control
  • Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM): Alerts the driver to vehicles in adjacent lanes
  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB): Can apply braking assistance when a collision risk is detected
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Braking: Warns of approaching vehicles when reversing
  • Traffic Sign Recognition: Reads speed limit signs and displays them in the cabin

These are driver assistance features. They are not autonomous driving systems. The driver is responsible for the vehicle at all times.

Radar, Camera, and Sensor Network

The WEY 03 safety systems rely on multiple sensing technologies. These work together to help the car monitor its surroundings.

The sensor network includes:

  • 5 millimetre-wave radars: Support the detection functions used by several driver assistance systems
  • 1 front sensor camera and 4 surround cameras: Provide visual information for driver assistance and parking functions
  • 8 ultrasonic radars: Support close range detection during parking manoeuvres

This combination significantly expands driver awareness. It is particularly useful in heavy UAE city traffic and tight parking areas. Sensors have limitations and may not detect all objects in all conditions.

Automatic Emergency Braking in Detail

AEB is one of the key safety features on the WEY 03. It is designed to assist when a forward collision risk is detected.

Here is how it works:

  • The vehicle’s forward sensing systems monitor for supported road users and potential collision risks ahead
  • The system calculates a potential collision risk based on speed and distance
  • If risk is assessed as high, the system first warns the driver with an audio and visual alert
  • If the driver does not react, the system may apply braking assistance
  • The car slows to help reduce the impact or avoid a collision where possible

AEB is a support system. It may not prevent all collisions. It operates within the system’s designed speed and detection range. Always refer to the owner’s manual for full operating conditions.

Lane Centering Assist and Highway Safety

The WEY 03’s Lane Keeping Assist is designed to support awareness on long journeys. Cameras monitor lane markings. If the car begins to drift without a turn signal, the system provides a gentle steering input.

The driver is always in control. The system can provide limited steering correction but does not continuously control the vehicle. The driver also receives an audible alert. LKA is an assistance feature. It does not substitute for driver attention, especially on long trips.

Combined with Adaptive Cruise Control, these two systems provide support during UAE motorway journeys. Always maintain full attention, regardless of active assistance features.

Blind Spot Monitoring for Multi Lane Roads

UAE highways regularly have four to six lanes. Changing lanes in heavy traffic carries real risk. Blind Spot Monitoring helps reduce that risk.

When a vehicle enters the WEY 03’s blind spot zone, a light appears on the corresponding side mirror. If the driver activates a turn signal toward that vehicle, the alert intensifies. An audible warning also sounds.

This system is a support tool. Always perform a physical mirror and shoulder check before changing lanes.

Six Airbags for Occupant Protection

The WEY 03 UAE specification confirms six airbags designed to work alongside the vehicle’s seat-belt systems.

The airbags are designed to provide supplementary occupant protection in certain collision situations when deployment conditions are met. All six airbags are designed to work in coordination with the seat belts.

Parking and Low Speed Safety

Urban driving in Dubai and Abu Dhabi means frequent parking and slow-speed maneuvering. The WEY 03 is equipped with a 360-degree camera view and ultrasonic sensors.

The camera system provides a top-down view of the car. It shows the vehicle’s position relative to parking bay lines, curbs, and nearby objects. The ultrasonic sensors add an audible distance guide.

These systems are designed to assist the driver during parking maneuvers. The driver remains responsible for all vehicle movements. The WEY 03’s dimensions, 4685 mm long and 1890 mm wide, benefit from this technology during tight parking situations.

Safety You Can Rely On

The WEY 03 safety systems are designed to be active on every drive. They act when conditions trigger them and stay quiet when not needed.

At WEY UAE, we are proud to offer a vehicle built with a comprehensive safety suite. These systems are designed to support, not replace, responsible driving habits.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What ADAS features does the WEY 03 include?

The WEY 03 includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Traffic Sign Recognition. These are driver assistance features and do not constitute autonomous driving.

How many airbags does the WEY 03 have?

The WEY 03 is equipped with six airbags. These cover front occupants from frontal, side, and rollover impacts, including curtain airbags for head protection.

Does the WEY 03 have a 360-degree camera?

Yes. The WEY 03 uses a combination of multiple cameras and ultrasonic sensors to provide a 360-degree surround view to support parking and low-speed manoeuvring. This is designed to assist with parking and low-speed maneuvering. The driver remains responsible for all movements.

How does Automatic Emergency Braking work on the WEY 03?

The vehicle’s forward sensing systems monitor for supported road users and potential collision risks ahead. If a forward collision risk is assessed, the system alerts the driver and may apply braking assistance. AEB operates within defined limits and may not prevent all collisions.

Are the WEY 03 safety systems always active?

Some safety systems operate automatically, while ADAS features such as Lane Keeping Assist and Automatic Emergency Braking only function when enabled and when their operating conditions are met. Refer to the owner’s manual for full requirements and limitations.
